REVIEWS AND COMMON PROBLEMS WITH 2022 HONDA CB650R

The Honda CB650R is an A2-licence-friendly, retro-styled naked bike closely related to the CBR650R sports bike. It is powered by a 649 cc inline four-cylinder engine with liquid cooling that generates 93.9 horsepower at 12,000 rpm and maximum torque at 8,500 rpm.

Features include the following:

  • Twin spar steel frame with an aluminum swingarm
  • Dual 310 mm discs in the front with four-piston Nissin calipers
  • 240 mm rear disc with a single-piston Nissin caliper
  • Dual channel ABS
  • 41 mm Showa SFF inverted fork with seven-position preload and 120 mm travel
  • Rear shock with 10 adjustable pre-load levels and 44 mm travel
  • Adjustable traction control
  • Complete LED lighting (like the CB1000R)
  • 4->1 exhaust system, adjustable brake lever
  • Helping hand and slipper clutch
  • Six-speed transmission with a gear position indicator
  • Honda has updated the successful CB650F naked bike with the CB125R/CB1000R’s neo-retro styling, added a color LCD dash, made the riding position more aggressive by lowering the handlebars, and reduced the weight by 6 kilograms.

They have also reduced the size of the fuel tank, shaved nearly 2 kilograms off the frame, upgraded to an upside down Separate Function Fork (SFF), upgraded the brakes, moved to non-wavy discs, included a slip / assist clutch, and added a new wheel design. There is also an ingenious emergency stop system that flashes the hazards.

Additionally, there is a slight increase in power, slightly higher up the range. Front and rear Metzeler Roadtec 120/70 and 180/55 tires fit on the 17″ 10-spoke wheels.

Accessories include a quickshifter (only for the up position), screen, heated grips, 12V socket, under cowl, and an assortment of aluminium farkles shared with the CB1000R.
