FANTIC MOTOR MOTORCYCLES MANUFACTURER

In 1968, the company began by producing and exporting enduro motorcycles, mini-bikes, and go-karts. They still operate in the same genre today, though the names have been changed to dual-sport and motard (supermoto), and they returned to the US market in 2016 as Fantic USA Inc. Fantic introduced new electric bike models in 2015, including the Fat Bike and now offers a full line of eMTB and commuter electric bikes.

Fantic began exporting to the United Kingdom in 1972, as part of a wave of manufacturers taking advantage of “sixteener laws,” which prohibited sixteen-year-old motorcyclists from riding motorcycles up to 250 cc, as they had previously done. As a result, European and Japanese manufacturers exported to England their sporty and lightweight below-50cc engines that were popular in Europe. Fantic created a “sensational chopper moped” and a TI (“Tourismo Internazionale”), both of which quickly became popular, with the reputation of being some of the fastest mopeds on the market, capable of reaching speeds of up to 70 mph.
